Held each month, participation in BOMA Dallas’ member committees is an effective way to build your professional network and take an active leadership role in the industry. All Real Estate and Allied members are welcomed to participate on committees. |

-- The Lone Star and TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) Awards Committees establish the criteria and select the persons to receive the awards. The TOBY Awards Committee also performs building inspections to select winners of the local TOBY competition. Volunteers include all members. The committee meets as needed and reports to the Awards Director.

THE GALA -- The Gala mission is to create and conduct a festive DBEI event for the members of BOMA Dallas and guests as a networking and fundraising event to benefit the BOMA Dallas sponsored charities. Volunteers include all members. The committee meets as needed and reports directly to the Community Service and Gala Director.

-- The Education Committee establishes and conducts local classes for the RPA, FMA, and SMA/SMT designation programs. They select instructors and work to improve the quality of local classes. Additional responsibilities include working to increase awareness of the benefits of the programs, establishing and conducting training programs as needed for building managers and their staff, and coordinating with local public schools to develop training programs leading to careers in building engineering, property management, and real estate leasing and brokerage. Volunteers include all members. The committee meets monthly and reports to the Education Director.

-- The membership committee develops programs to increase the awareness of Dallas BOMA among commercial real estate and facility management professionals. They also assist in welcoming members to monthly membership luncheons, conduct new member orientation, and develop membership recruiting and retention programs. Volunteers include all members. -- The Trade Show Committee provides a forum for Allied members and other suppliers to display products and services for the commercial real estate industry. Property and facility managers and owners and their staff attend the annual event. Volunteers include all members. The committee meets as needed (more frequently as event gets closer) and reports to the Allied Director.

-- The Young Professionals Committee is a sub-committee of Membership offering young real estate professionals, age 40 and under, a forum of interaction and support within the commercial real estate industry. Their goal is to promote career growth and development for its members through leadership, education, mentoring and networking, but also focusing on the positive impact they can make outside the real estate community through charitable efforts and community outreach. Volunteers include all members. The committee meets monthly and reports to the Membership Director.
