Self-Empowerment for Women:   Capitalizing on Your Unique Traits and Intuition
Our story is not what happens to us. It is what we make of what happens to us.
Oh how true!
As women, we have different interpretations of our story in the world and are constantly tested. We are, in fact, our toughest critics. We are also natural leaders and destined to find our true purpose once we let go of our limitations.
Katie will present a model for leadership competency that identifies 16 unique female competencies that are reached through self-discovery and intuition. She will share her insights in working with women for 28 years, including the state of women in leadership roles, statistics reflecting what is happing nationally and globally, and some reasons (often self-imposed) as to why this is happening.

At the heart of Katie Snapp is an animated extrovert, yet at an early age she found herself in a stodgy, male-based job as an electrical engineer. And so was born a woman looking to make a difference.
In the fulltime world, Katie is a Quality Engineer at Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque, NM, as well as founder and president of Skirt Strategies, training and encouragement for women in leadership. She coaches women on their effectiveness, grace, and intention, and she speaks nationally in various industries including real estate and property management. She has recently published her second book Brave Transitions: A Woman’s Guide for Maintaining Composure through Changes in Work and Life. Her first book, Skirt Strategies: 249 Success Tips for Women in Leadership, is a collection of inspiring ideas and practical tips for women in leadership.
Katie is passionate about women’s success in the workplace. Our best is conveyed when we tap into the authentic strengths we know we have, but getting to those is sometimes tricky.
Katie was born and raised in Kansas City in family with deep roots in commercial real estate. Her consulting career has taken her across the world, and she presently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with her husband and a senseless dog.
