Exams

BOMI International provides computer-based testing (CBT) through Pearson VUE. Computer-based testing allows BOMI International to continue to maintain the high standards of the current examination process while adding numerous benefits for both candidates and their employers. CBT demonstrates our commitment to providing stakeholders with the highest levels of service and security.

Competency Credits and Transfer Credits

We realize that what you’ve learned on the job or at other educational institutions is valuable. Therefore, we offer options for obtaining credit for that experience.
Designation Programs
Students enrolled in the RPA® designation, FMA® designation, or SMA® designation programs are eligible to apply for competency credits through two methods:
  • Administrative Competency - An application process by which a student is given credit for specific courses from accredited colleges and universities, or from specific professional credentials, including the CCIM, CPM, CSM, PE, SIOR, and more.
    •  RPA®  designation 
    •  FMA®  designation 
    •  SMT®/SMA®   designations
  • Competency by Review - Allows students to earn credit based on their individual academic and professional experiences. Please contact BOMI International for specific course application(s).
Unless otherwise noted, students may receive competency credit for a maximum of:
  • Three courses in the RPA® desgination and FMA® designation programs
  • Two courses in the SMT® designation program
  • One SMA® designation course

Certificate Programs

Credit for courses awarded through a competency option do not qualify for certificate programs, with the exception of Budgeting and Accounting for the Property Management Financial Proficiency Certificate (PMFP).
