We need the absolutely perfectly Awesome Main Character to work full-time to fill the role of Graphics Designer / Communications Coordinator.
What We Do:
The most talented business leaders and managers in Greater Dallas have tasked the BOMA Greater Dallas staff to run the day-to-day operations of their not-for-profit association for them. We need your help!
What You Would Do:
Do you have a great personality and enjoy people? Do you have a servant’s heart such that you are energized by helping others in their careers? Are you looking for a fast-paced, rewarding, thrill-ride of a career instead of another stale, old, boring job? Do you want to be part of business and economic growth in the region? Then, working at the only association dedicated to commercial real estate in the entire region may be just the right fit for you.
There is one more thing, and it’s a BIG thing: We need mad skills. You need to be able to turn creative ideas into products on paper or the digital landscape.
Chiefly, you would be designing everything from event graphics and posters, to brochures and web sites, to logos and event programs, to PowerPoint slide decks or feedverse posts, to name a few. You will have the stabilizing grounding of producing both a weekly electronic eNewsletter and a weekly electronic eCalendar; but, other than that, every day will bring new challenges and excitement.
Did I mention slide decks… yeah, you will do that, too. Some will be massive with 60 plus slides and others with just a few. They are all to back up our amazing events & education that we put on for our members regularly every month. You’ll even sync them to match a written-out script. Heck, you might even write the script. So, you should probably be a good writer, too. We’re not looking for a novelist or poet or anything like that; but, your creativity should flow to the written word as well. You should be able to write snappy headlines, social media posts, and folksy paragraphs that persuade & promote.

It will keep you busy. When you are not at an event, you will be comfortably nestled in your office, emerging for the occasional conversation, a snack break, or to retrieve a batch of printed materials from the copier; but, you kinda like that… it’s one of the side perks of your job. You like to dig deep… to focus… to hone-in on the task at hand; because, after all, you are a visionary… a creator… an originator… a perfectionist. But, it is more than that…
It’s being part of something bigger than yourself. It’s making a difference where you live, work, and play. So, you need to ask yourself… Can you do all of that? Can you represent? Can you dress, act, and sound the part, even when it’s a bad day and there are a bunch of things to finish on your To-Do List? Our Members claim they BLEED BOMA BLUE because we help companies and their employees to learn, grow, and connect; so, the job is pretty rewarding and laid back – but, every job has its moments.
And… Are you willing to work both smart and hard to make it happen?
A requirement to apply is that you know your way around a keyboard and a computer. We are not looking for an IT person; but, you do need to be an expert at MS Word and MS Outlook, pretty good with MS Excel, and should at least know what MS Teams is. You should be skilled in Graphic Design with a portfolio to prove it and some experience under your belt – a few years, at least. We will train you on all the rest. Plus, we are a PC and an Adobe Creative Suite office. If you are Mac only and / or Canva only, that won't work for this role.
Some experience with Asana, Canva, web design, SEO, and photography are not required; but, they are definitely a big plus.
We do events! Some of the coolest events in the region, of course. Member events aren't just part of the job here - they are the job! We need your help preparing for these events. They almost always occur during normal business hours, but on occasion we do show up to bring the party after hours. Usually, that just means setting up the cool graphics you created, checking off people as they come to registration, or running the PowerPoint slideshow you're excited to show off. Some of our vibinest and epic events are in the evening; so, you will need to be flexible and adjust your work schedule for that day.
A few days each year, we have events that will fall on a weekend. While your attendance is required, you will have the perk of flexing your hours during the week to compensate for that weekend workday. No need to stress because this only happens a few times a year and you'll always get to sleep in your own bed (we don't do overnight travel).
This is a metric driven position. So, if you say you can… but can’t. Or, can… but don’t; then, that won’t work for us. We need someone who does. We need a motivated team player. Is that you?
How Much It Pays:
This is a full-time hourly position at $23.00/hour. The work will mostly be done inside your office in the beautiful Bank of America building in downtown Dallas. You'll have an amazing floor to ceiling window wall and a standing conversion desk. Most weeks you will work 40 hours. Some weeks will include overtime work, though that is rare.
You do need your own reliable transportation and a mobile phone with a great plan. We will provide an allowance for the phone and reimbursement for miles, as well as complimentary garage parking adjacent to the BOMA Greater Dallas office.

Are You Still There?:
Most candidates don’t even make it this far in the job ad. They simply apply for every job on the job board – not because the job interests them, but because they need a job. ANY job. That person is not the right fit for us.
